PWHL team colors

Professional Women's Hockey League - official brand color codes for all 12 teams.

The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) launched in 2024 with six charter franchises, added the Seattle Torrent and Vancouver Goldeneyes for 2025-26, and grows to 12 teams for the 2026-27 season with new clubs in Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas, and San Jose. The original six unveiled their names and identities together in September 2024. Every entry includes official HEX, RGB, CMYK, and Pantone values verified against official team artwork.

What do PWHL team colors mean?

Every PWHL team's color palette tells a story - rooted in city identity, history, or the symbolism behind the team's name.

Boston Fleet

Deep forest green leads the palette, with aqua, teal, and navy drawn from the harbour. The waves running through the logo pick up the aqua, tying the colours to Boston's maritime history.

Minnesota Frost

Purple is the Frost's core colour, paired with a lighter lavender that reads like ice catching the light. Together they give the State of Hockey's team a palette unlike any other in the league.

Montréal Victoire

Deep burgundy is the signature colour, set against stone and navy. The league describes the stone and blues as complementary shades that give the identity a refined, classic feel.

New York Sirens

Teal is the Sirens' vibrant lead colour, set against navy with an orange accent. The bright teal gives New York a look no other team in the league shares.

Ottawa Charge

Red is the Charge's core colour, carrying the energy in the team name, with gold and grey in support. The red and gold also connect the team to the capital's established hockey identity.

Toronto Sceptres

Royal blue leads the palette, with gold and yellow drawn from the regalia of a sceptre. The colours tie the team to Toronto's royal history and its nickname, the Queen City.

PWHL team logo meanings

Each PWHL logo reflects the team's character, city, or founding story.

Boston Fleet

A forward-leaning B in deep green with an anchor built into the letterform and waves running through it, communicating momentum and the city's nautical heritage.

Minnesota Frost

A stylized F in purple and lavender with angular edges and sharp points, shaped to recall icicles.

Montréal Victoire

Wing-like shapes that allude to the Goddess of Victory, with a hidden M within the wings and a fleur-de-lis at the centre, set inside a shield topped by the VICTOIRE wordmark.

New York Sirens

A teal SIRENS wordmark whose reverberating S shapes mimic sound waves, set over an angular NY inside a navy and orange hexagon that nods to New York's architecture.

Ottawa Charge

A red O monogram drawn to look like a spinning object charged with electric current, conveying energy and forward movement.

Toronto Sceptres

The initials T and S combined into a single mark, with a royal sceptre running through its centre to evoke power.

How to recreate a PWHL logo

If you're designing fan art or a creative project using PWHL team colors, here's a general workflow:

  1. Get the official colors - use the HEX, RGB, and Pantone values from this page or the team's individual color page.
  2. Source the logo SVG - official SVG logos are available through official PWHL team websites and league press materials.
  3. Open in a vector tool - Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or Affinity Designer all work well for SVG editing.
  4. Apply official colors - replace any approximate colors with the exact values from team brand guidelines.
  5. Respect usage rights - PWHL team logos are trademarked. Fan art is generally tolerated but commercial use requires licensing.

PWHL teams with similar colors to other leagues

Several PWHL teams share their color palette with franchises across other leagues - creating cross-sport color connections.

Boston Fleet

Boston Celtics (NBA) - both of Boston's green-led franchises build on deep green, though the Fleet pair theirs with aqua and navy rather than white and gold.

New York Sirens

New York Knicks (NBA) and New York Mets (MLB) - orange with blue is a long-running New York combination; the Sirens keep the orange and navy but lead with teal.

Ottawa Charge

Ottawa Senators (NHL) - the Charge share the Canadian Tire Centre with the Senators and build on a similar red and gold.

Montréal Victoire

Montreal Canadiens (NHL) - the Victoire's burgundy and navy are a deeper take on the red and blue long associated with hockey in Montreal.

Minnesota Frost

Minnesota Vikings (NFL) - purple leads both identities, though the Frost use a darker, cooler shade.

Toronto Sceptres

Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) - blue anchors both of Toronto's professional hockey teams, with the Sceptres adding gold and yellow.
